These past few weeks have been pretty hectic to say the least. In the midst of performing live, and initiating the recording process for my album, I was offered a job out in Los Angeles, CA. This definitely threw a dint in my plans (but in a good way)!
LA is a place I’ve always wanted to live in. It is one of the hubs of the music world, and opportunities abound. Not only that, but the weather is great, and it’s not to far away from Silicon Valley (I’ve been very big into tech lately). It is for these reasons that I ultimately decided to accept the job… and while I love the Hampton Roads area (including all of my family/friends, current job, & all of my clients and students), I’m very excited to have the opportunity to go and start a new phase in my life in an area that I’ve always aspired to live in.
That being said however, this change has had a few unfortunate near-term consequences: 1) I’ve had to halt the recording process to my album, and 2) I’ve had to decline requests to perform live for events in the Hampton Roads area. Note: To all of those interested clients, I want to sincerely apologize for 1) being unable to perform for your event this past month and 2) being unable to accept offers for the remainder of 2014, and for the calender year 2015. Please forgive me, and if there is anything I can do for you in the future, if I can be of service in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact me… Even though I’ll be in LA, I’ll try to help out as best I can with any requests!
My new job starts next week, and because of this, I’ll be officially moving by the end of this week. The plan is to drive across country with my Uncle (who not only is family, but is also one of my best friends), and complete the trip in 4 days. Once I arrive in LA, and get settled in (probably around the end of this month/beginning of September), I plan to immediately get to work recording. Additionally, my live music services will re-commence, this time with LA (and California in general) as my new client base.
So… keep posted here on the blog! I will post pictures from my cross-country trip, and post updates on the status of my album and live music services…
